Ya, hey dere!
Summer is here, and it’s only fitting that this episode takes me back to a place synonymous with summer in my childhood – Wisconsin!
Born just north of Milwaukee but raised in nearby Chicago, I spent many a long hot day in America’s Dairyland: summer camp, water skiing, fishing, mosquitoes, and beer…lots of beer.
That’s why it was great to check in with one of my longtime pals from my early days of standup, Pete Schwaba, who left LA back in 2011 to raise his kids in the same small northern Wisconsin town of Marinette where he and his wife came of age.
We talk about quintessential Wisconsin things like boating, dodging deer on the highway, custard, supper clubs, our love of Madison, and so much more.
We even get around to reminiscing about some ill-advised road trips we took back in the ’90’s. Fun stuff!
So throw on your Packers jersey and grab a beer, bratwurst, and your favorite wedge of cheese. We’re goin’ north!
