Some book titles just jump off the shelves.
When I saw the cover of Kat Medina’s new travel book, “The Joys of Jetlag – How To Use a Traveler’s Mindset To Not Be An A-Hole in Daily Life,” I knew I had to read it.
Kat is a Northern California native who grew up taking advantage of the wealth of activities always outside her door. It didn’t matter if she was snowboarding, hiking, rafting, climbing, or wakeboarding, Kat knew that being chained to desk all week long was not in her DNA.
Luckily she forged a career in the tech industry that allowed her to work remotely, which meant she could live her dream or traveling the world, and eventually make her home in the resort town of South Lake Tahoe.
Kat noticed that the person she was when traveling- open, present, adventurous, grateful – was the person she wanted to be when she was home as well.
In her book, Kat uses stories from her own travels and what they taught her to show how that joyous feeling we get from being on vacation can be experienced all year long.
Travel has always been a way to teach, and if Kat can teach us joy in jetlag, then sign us up for class!
Thanks, Kat!
