A successful executive gave it all up to protect an endangered species with a bad reputation.

Julie Andersen had it all.

She owned a succesful P.R. firm in New York City with big name clients and enjoyed a posh “Sex and the City” lifestyle. But the longtime scuba diver felt that something was missing.

Julie’s trips to some of the finest dive spots around the world had taught her that sharks were being slaughtered and an alarmingly high rate.

Since her first face-to-face encounter with a shark, Julie has held a soft spot in her heart for the misunderstood animals. The general public proved both unaware of the shark’s destruction and worst of all, unwilling to do anything about it.

She decided what the sharks needed was a good P.R. person.

Julie sold her company, moved to South Africa, and helped form Shark Angels – a non-profit group dedicated to saving shark populations around the world. It’s a tough job for sure, but she’s fully dedicated to the cause.

For Julie, every week is Shark Week.

And for those misunderstood giants of the ocean, they couldn’t have a better representative.

Thanks, Julie, and keep fighting the good fight!
