A rose by any other name…
People often wonder why Erin Hynes’ travel blog goes by the name Pina Travels, and this interviewer was no exception. It was clearly not the first time she’s been asked, but Erin was kind enough to indulge me with the story of how her alias came to be.
Erin’s nickname was given to her by locals when she was traveling in Italy as a teenager, and as it turned out, the new moniker was not the only thing that stuck from that trip.
Her experiences working at a hostel in Venice was the spark that sent Erin’s life on a new path, which was always going to include traveling the world.
After graduating from university and creating a home base with her partner in Toronto, Erin set about starting her award-winning travel blog, as well as hosting her Curious Tourism podcast, which focuses on sustainable tourism and responsible travel.
