Aloha!
This episode we are headed to the Big Island of Hawaii, where entrepreneur Ellie Rollins made her home for over twenty years and raised three kids.
The California native took to the island lifestyle immediately after arriving in her early twenties with her native Hawaiian husband, but the adjustment took some trial and error.
Ellie soon learned that paradise does take some getting used to, and had to accept that no matter how much Hawaii felt like home, she would always be a visitor to the ancient land.
Ellie shares stories of learning Hawaiian cultures and customs, its definition of family, and how her experiences changed her.
She also found business success on the Big Island, where she owns seven thrift stores. She has since expanded her empire to four Cabin Creek Crystals stores: one in Kona and others in Lake Tahoe, Reno, and Santa Monica.
If that wasn’t enough, she recently re-ignited her love of singing and has an album on the way!
Thanks for squeezing us in, Ellie! Aloha!
