Teenage years in Hong Kong led one woman to a life of travel: from the Peace Corps in Ukraine, to Mt Everest, and even North Korea.
The totalitarian nation of North Korea has been off-limits to all but a small number of outsiders. Amy Daniels is one of them.
While working for the humanitarian aid group Americares, Amy Daniels made four visits to the secretive nation, and has plenty of Travel Tales to share.
I got to sit down with Amy fresh off her recent camping/hiking trek on the John Muir Trail in California. We talked about that trip, as well as her hike to Mt. Everest Base Camp, and her years spent in the now war-torn Crimea region of Ukraine while working in the Peace Corps.
We even chat about the moment that sparked her love of foreign travel – having to spend her awkward middle-school years in Hong Kong.
Amy now travels the world working with politicians and corporations to spread awareness of autism.
Traveling the world while doing good work – great job, Amy!
