There’s something about Italy that inspires passion in people: for romance, art, food, or simply living the good life.
Cortney McDermott found her passion when she left her Chicago upbringing behind and forged a new life in a small village in Northern Italy.
While studying at the London School of Economics, she met an Italian man who convinced her to move to his hometown. After Cortney spent a year living in France, she agreed to the move , and later, to marriage.
She was the proverbial fish out of water, not knowing the language and learning the ins and outs of her new country.
Twenty years, many growing pains, and one daughter later, she navigates Italy like a native.
Taking maternity leave from her corporate job inspired Cortney to exit the 9 to 5 altogether, and she soon found her passion writing and speaking about self-help and business strategy to corporate clients and audiences worldwide.
Cortney found her passion and now helps others do the same. Those are lessons we can live by!
