September 24, 2020 Nate Timmons Writing The Dad Book
Listen Now

Like most people fresh out of college, Nate Timmons wanted to see the world a bit before settling down into the 9 to 5.

Nate wanted to visit all 50 states, and all the inspiration he needed was there under his own roof – his father.

Having a great relationship with his dad was something Nate took for granted until he got to college, and met many others who weren’t as lucky. Their Tales from all walks of life led Nate to his mission: meet and spend time with fathers of all different backgrounds in each state about what fatherhood means to them.

The result would be a book, appropriately titled, The Dad Book.

A road trip of that magnitude required a strong vehicle, but Nate settled on a 1985 VW Vanagon he lovingly dubbed “Vanah White.”

The van died after just over 30 states, and Nate completed his journey on bicycle.

Nate called in from his home in Kalamazoo, MI and shared Tales of his cross-country odyssey, and what he learned about fatherhood, the country, and people in general.

Thanks, Nate, and good luck!
