A young man spends what would have been his college years working on cargo ships around the world.
Comedian/actor Matt Knudsen found himself in a bad place after high school.
Living with his parents, taking a class at a local community college, and working part-time at Office Depot just wasn’t cutting it. When an opportunity arose to work on a cargo ship as a merchant marine, Matt jumped at the opportunity.
When he wasn’t dodging snipers in Somalia or pirates in Shanghai, Matt spent months backpacking throughout Europe and South America.
Now Matt has a successful career in Hollywood and doesn’t get around the world as much, but looks back on his days at sea as the college life he never had. And the best part – no student loan debt!
