September 28, 2017 Frank Biernat Germany, Switzerland and Beyond
Listen Now

The world Frank Biernat thought he knew changed dramatically in late 1989.

After enjoying a peaceful, stable childhood in the suburbs of Hamburg, Germany, the Berlin Wall came down and the prospect of reunification was brought forth to mend Frank’s fractured nation.

Frank, who for the last ten years has lived and worked in Switzerland, experienced Europe’s changing times from the inside: from the fall of the Soviet Union, to the formation of the EU, to Brexit and the current immigration crisis.

I sat down with Frank on the roof of his Venice Beach, CA hotel, to talk about life in both Germany and Switzerland, his journeys around America, and how the US is looking from the outside these days.

Frank also revealed his favorite German beer, tips for visiting Oktoberfest in Munich, and why Germans have a penchant for outdoor nudity.

So pour yourself a Pilsner and enjoy my chat with Herr Biernat.

Danke, Frank!
