If you think living on a 40-ft sailboat around the world full-time as a couple is a test of relationship, you’d be right.
If you think the lifestyle could lead to amazing highs and crushing lows, you’d also be correct.
American Ryan met French expat Sophie when both were working and living in Stockholm, Sweden. When Ryan hatched the idea of ditching the corporate lifestyle and sailing around the world, Sophie hopped aboard for the ride.
Since 2018, the couple have been at sea, splitting their time between Europe and the Caribbean.
Along the way, the pair launched their now successful YouTube channel, featuring not just the highs, but also the lows that many in social media won’t show: depression, mechanical mishaps, stress, foul weather, and more.
We were lucky to catch up with Ryan and Sophie on a rare break from sailing, with Ryan visiting family in Iowa, and Sophie handling business in Belgium. But soon, they’ll be back at sea and we’ll be following along virtually.
Bon voyage!
